Before you ever make the decision to purchase a ferret, the importance can’t be stressed enough, you need to take the time to read books about ferrets, visit shelters and talk to people that currently own ferrets. The main reason for this is because frequently there are ferrets that are abandoned and just set loose into the wild by their owner because they made the decision that they no longer want the ferrets and this is a death sentence right from the start.

There are also shelters out there that are crowded with ferrets because their owners decided that they didn’t want them or they didn’t want to have to pay their medical bills. You shouldn’t acquire a pet unless you are going to commit to full responsibility of caring for them and owning them for life.

Around eight weeks of age, baby ferrets are going to need a distemper inoculation, around eleven to twelve weeks of age the ferret is going to need a booster and then at fourteen to sixteen weeks of age the ferret is going to need its final booster. Once you have completed all of these, you are going to need to have your ferret vaccinated yearly. The annual rabies shot is going to need to be given to the ferret around twelve to thirteen weeks of age.

You should consider these shots a necessity, not a luxury. You are also going to need to make sure that you have all of the necessities for the baby ferret. Get a litter box for your ferret and nip training is essential. Bear in mind that these nips are too hurt you, biting is just a ferret’s nature, because they have rough skin and they are used to rough play.

It is a good idea to get a cage where the ferret is able to quietly sleep and you’re are also going to need to have some toys for your ferret to play with. Most of the time, a ferret is going to sleep around eighteen to twenty hours a day but when it comes out to place, its like a cat on steroids, there’s no stopping it. These little fury bundles of joy are exciting and full of life, all they ask is that you take care of them by properly learning about raising baby ferrets.

If you have ever had the discussion with your partner to get your child a puppy a thought usually comes to mind and it will be about house training.  It is not that difficult at all to house train a dog but it takes much time and patience.

It is best to house train your dog at a young age this makes it easier.  It is possible to teach an old dog new tricks however it is a bit harder.  When house training you need to cater to your dog.  You need to teach your dog how to go outside to use the bathroom the very first thing.  It is best to stay on teaching your new dog house training before you teach it anything else.

Remember taht you will nat have results overnight.  It may take several days and in many case many weeks to house train your dog.  Many dogs are very stubborn and they try to be the one in control you need to prevent your dog form thinking this way and you need to be the master.

Every person who is in the household needs to know what you expect of the dog.  If you are trying to break the dog of a certain habit and another person in the house is allowing it then it can make the dog a confused creature.

Remember that when you are starting to house train your dog that you will not see results right away.  You need to have patience and be very consistent.  Your effort will pay off and you will end up with a dog that know where to use the bathroom and your dog will also know who is the boss.
